Title of presentation: ‘Renal services in Gibraltar’
I came from a big University Teaching Hospital in the UK where 5 consultant nephrologists provided renal care to a population of ≈900,000 people, including 330 haemodialysis patients, spread over a large geographical area. In Gibraltar I am a single handed nephrologist serving approximately ≈30,000 Gibraltar residents and ≈15,000 entitled cross-frontier workers in a geographical small area. I discuss some of the challenges in attempting to deliver comprehensive renal services in Gibraltar.
