Dr Susan Turnbull, Medical Officer of Health, Jersey
Title of presentation: ‘Small States Networks.’
In 2017 at the Jersey Inter-Islands Public Health Forum, we learned from the President of the faculty of Public Health of the existence of other Small States Networks. I undertook to learn more about the work of these networks, and potential connections and synergies between those ‘Small States’ already involved and our own Island jurisdictions. In a short presentation, I will describe my learning journey to date, beginning with a meeting in the margins of the European Health Forum Gastein in September 2017, and then an invitation to a half-day workshop involving EU and WHO Small States Network leads and participants, at the November 2017 European Public Health Conference in Stockholm. This will enable a broader and shared understanding by IIPHF colleagues of similarities and differences between our networks, leading into a discussion about the potential for further strengthening links.
